Let's start back from the beginning...
Some time around 2025, I found out that github was blocked on the chromebooks at my school. Before the block, I was primarily building my website during time at school when I had nothing else to do. Some of the code in Angel.nya.je uses my older code that was built on that same code that I made on my school chromebook.
Puzzled, I started looking around more. Scratch.mit.edu was blocked as well. Code.org was blocked too. VScode? Blocked. What the hell? There's literally no reason for this.
So I started asking.
First, it was the advisor for a girls' council type of program that occasionally hosts events at my school. The advisor is a very sweet woman. I knew I could trust her with explaining the situation & showing her my website. I don't show my website to a lot of people in real life due to the fact I'm closeted and don't disclose the fact I'm agender & use he/she. But, she accepted me with open arms (thank GOD.) and told me she'd definitely help me if needed.
Second, it was the school's counselors. I still remember it quite vividly, I was a stuttering mess but managed to explain the situation thoroughly and why I thought this was wrong. While they couldn't do anything, they supported me and told me to contact the school IT.
Third, it was my previous boss when I had worked for the school IT. Ironic? Anyway, I thought she was ignoring my emails, but no, she was just too busy to respond. And, to my surprise, she was completely on my side. Confusing? I know right, now imagine my shock when she said she couldn't do anything about it because the principal is the one who blocked it.
So, now it's the fourth time. I wrote a long email explaining in detail how blocking these websites made 0 sense. They're not breaking any rules, we have no computer science classes, and they were unblocked previously. I got no response.
Today I got sick of waiting for a reply and looked around the campus for him. During lunch, I saw him, walked up, and asked if he received my email.
He said yes.
He told me it was because of me that the websites were blocked.
ME?
LMAOOAOAOAOAOOAOAAOOOO WAS MY CODE THAT ASS TO THE POINT THEY JUST SHUT THE SHIT DOWN HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA
No seriously. If you've played Class of 09 or seen the intro to it, do you know the part where Nicole goes "yeah im nicole by the way WHAT THE FUCK DID I DO?" THAT PLAYED IN MY HEAD IMMEDIATELY ONCE THE PRINCIPAL SAID THAT. HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHHAHAHA
Okay okay okay. Well, I told him to send me a reply specifically telling me what I did and why it was wrong because I truly would love to know. I walked away and just thought for a while.
Me... me? what? how???
Let's trace back a little further now, 2025, back when I was LOOSING my shit from being detained for 5+ hours. In a small room, locked, with a bunch of people from the county, gaslighting me and threatening to send me to the hospital for the 5150 hold. Absolute hell, how the fuck did I not kill myself? Anyway, I had nobody to tell this to and I was afraid. I was very afraid, anxious, and not a single person that I knew in my family would trust me.
So naturally I wrote it all in a blog. Details from that room, my endless crying, the burning and stinging pain in my eyes that never went away.
That's it that's what I think it is. Is trying to stop me from writing publicly? I'll admit my principal is VERY stupid if he thinks that he stopped me by blocking a website on a school issued laptop. Thank you dell latitude 5400! Never die!
Other than that I seriously cannot think of a reason that was "inappropriate." All I did on my previous Github blog was shitpost, rant, cry about something dumb, and shitpost some more lol.
Sure I cursed on my blog, but if kids can say racial slurs with 0 consequence at my school I think typing a few curse words is nothing.
I'm just puzzled. Literally what benefit does anyone get from this? And why am I the reason?
I guess on the other hand, the year is almost over and I won't have to deal with this jackass excuse of a person. Same time, I'd hate for someone else with an interest in code to be met with the same restrictions that I did. I'd hate myself too knowing it's apparently my fault.
Oh one more thing, a little while after I sent that email to the principal, .html files "magically" become blocked LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
